Evan Mager
Vice President, Marketing Strategy and Operations/ Workday

Evan Mager is the Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Operations at Workday. His team is the engine that drives Marketing success, encompassing everything from planning and analytics to marketing technology and automation to global web production and project management. He reports directly to the CMO and sits on her Marketing Leadership Team.

Before Workday, Evan spent almost seven years at Salesforce, where he built the creative strategy discipline, then assumed responsibility for all Brand Strategy and Operations, overseeing brand awareness and media campaigns, program management, agency management, and the creative studio.

Before going “in-house” Evan spent a decade at two renowned San Francisco ad agencies – Eleven and AKQA – where he had the privilege to support brands like Xbox, Visa, and Schwab. He even earned a patent for his work on Target. And he started his marketing career at a research agency in Boston called AMP Insights, moderating focus groups and testing products for brands like Reebok, Coors Brewing, and Hasbro.

(Secretly, though, Marketing is not Evan's first career. He is actually a failed mechanical engineer, having earned an engineering degree then working for a single year building air conditioners and water heaters at an engineering consultancy. Let's just say it was not his passion.)

Evan is the proud father of 14-year old twins, husband of 16 years, native of Oakland, resident of beautiful Redwood City, graduate of Harvard University, comic book nerd, sci-fi nut, distance runner, home chef, lover of donuts, and volleyball player
